  2. Women like Elizabeth Cady Stanton spoke up for equal rights and independence.

 International Women's Day Evolution:

  1. Clara Zetkin suggested International Women's Day in 1910 during a meeting in Copenhagen.
  2. March 8 was chosen to remember a mass protest by Russian women on February 23, 1917, which led to important changes, including women gaining the right to vote.

 Global Recognition and Impact:

  1. People around the world rally on IWD in support of women's rights, such as the right to work and vote, and end discrimination.
  2. It's an important day to honor women's achievements and keep fighting for fairness.
  3. Governments, like the Obama administration, have recognized March as ‘Women’s History Month’ to celebrate women's contributions.
