The GSAP SKILLS Platform, introduced at the 4th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity, serves as an online resource for species conservation.

About the GSAP SKILLS Platform:

  1. Global Species Action Plan and Species Conservation Knowledge:

    1. The GSAP SKILLS Platform brings the Global Species Action Plan (GSAP) content online, enabling real-time updates of technical tools and resources.
    2. It aims to facilitate global collaboration and partnerships, connecting decision-makers, practitioners, and experts in species conservation at all levels.
  2. Real-Time Updates:

    1. The platform provides real-time updates on technical tools and resources, ensuring accessibility and relevance.
    2. Each Global Biodiversity Framework target includes a brief summary, rationale, and relevant resources, facilitating the scaling-up of implementation efforts.
  3. Proactive Management:

    1. IUCN proactively manages the platform to meet the needs of governments and stakeholders in taking action for species conservation.
  4. Support and Funding:

    1. The development of the GSAP SKILLS Platform has been primarily supported by the Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea, with additional resources from the Tech4Nature Initiative launched by IUCN and Huawei in 2020.
