India-Tanzania Relations

  • Embracing Indo-Pacific Cooperation: Tanzania has been recognised by Prime Minister Modi as a valuable Indo-Pacific ally. This demonstrates India's dedication to creating a network of strategic partners in the area to deal with common issues and advance stability. Tanzania's involvement is all the more vital in the Indo-Pacific because of its growing economic and strategic significance.

Tanzania and India will also work together on international problems like clean energy and wildlife conservation.
  • Maritime Security: Both countries stressed the necessity of working together to address issues related to marine security, such as drug trafficking and piracy in the Indian Ocean region. Their commitment to improving maritime security was evident in the joint Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) surveillance exercise that took place in July.
