India-led Group of Friends (GOF) convened for its second meeting on 26 March 2024. Comprising 40 member states, the GOF deliberated on strategies to strengthen legal frameworks against perpetrators of malicious acts targeting Peacekeepers, focusing on supporting measures for ensuring accountability.

  1. India launched a new database hosted on the Unite Aware platform to record crimes against peacekeepers and monitor accountability efforts.
  2. The meeting underlines the commitment of member states, led by India, to maintain the safety and dignity of peacekeepers around the world.

The GOF was launched in 2022 to promote accountability for crimes against Blue Helmets during India's presidency of the UN Security Council.

India, Bangladesh, Egypt, France, Morocco and Nepal are co-chairs of the GOF, which comprises 40 member states.
