The 2023 Champions of the Earth Award recognizes individuals and organizations for their innovative solutions to combat plastic pollution.

  • The UN's highest environmental honour recognizes efforts to tackle the global plastic crisis.

Note: Previous, Indian awardees include Indian wildlife biologist Dr. Purnima Devi Barman (2022), Tulsi Tanti (Chairman of the Suzlon Group), PM Narendra Modi (2018), and Afroz Alam, a lawyer who led the clean-up at Mumbai’s Versova beach.
