IAS (Indian Administrative Service) is the premier service of India. IAS along with IPS (Indian Police Service) and IFoS (Indian Forest Services) are All India Services and an integral part of Union Services. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), which is a constitutional body, conducts examinations for recruitment to these services every year.
Eligibility Criteria
UPSC prescribes the following criteria for civil services aspirants.

Education: A candidate must have a graduate degree from a recognized university

Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years on 1st August of the year in which the exam would be held. The maximum age to take this exam is 32 years on 1st August for the forthcoming exam.

Age Relaxation: UPSC provides age relaxation to candidates belonging to different categories.
Number of Attempts
UPSC prescribes number of attempts for the candidates belonging to different categories.
