Under its capacity-building strategy, the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) hosted the 36th CISO Deep-Dive training course at the Indian Institute of Public Administration in New Delhi with 24 participants from Central Line Ministries and States/UTs.
Goal: To raise awareness of cybercrime and strengthen the skills of frontline IT staff members and Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) across all government agencies.
It was introduced in 2018 by India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and several industry partners.
This Public-Private partnership (PPP) model collaboration is a first-of-its-kind venture between the government and an industry consortium.
Objectives:
Raise awareness of the emerging landscape of cyber threats.
Give an in-depth understanding of related solutions.
Cybersecurity-related frameworks, rules, and policies that are applicable.
Provide best practices to learn from failures & successes.
Give important information so that decision-makers in each functional area may make well-informed decisions on Cyber Security-related issues.
Participants: The programme is designed for frontline IT staff members and chief information security officers (CISOs) from various ministries and departments, as well as from central and state governments, PSUs, banks, and other government and semi-government organisations.
Training: The industrial consortium offers technical support for the training while NeGD provides logistic support in arranging the training programmes.
The industry training partners include Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Palo Alto Networks, E&Y, and Dell-EMC. The government knowledge partners are NIC, CERT-In, and CDAC.
